With ten of the thirteen Hambly grandchildren in the house, and six of those ten under age six, there was a sense of controlled and joyful chaos most of the time. Add to that four reunited Hambly siblings and their spouses, which equates to a lot of reminiscing, a lot of guitar playing, a lot of laughter and a whole lot of food.
One of the things that I enjoy about huge Hambly gatherings is how much we all love and enjoy each other's children. One night I watched as Justin's brother took his daughter upstairs to bed; they left the room amid a chorus of "Goodnight!" and "Love you!" It makes me happy to know that it wouldn't matter which child was going to bed. The love would be the same. And I am so grateful that my children have a part in that love. I know they feel it, and I can see the sense of security it brings them.
Plus, have you seen the Hambly grandkids? It's easy to love kids as adorable and awesome as these ones!
(The same goes for my side of the family, whose recent massive baby boom bodes well for crazy cousin reunions in the future.)

Ok the dark haired little girl in the center...is she Kevin's? She looks so Hambly I can't believe it!
Yes, that is Kevin's daughter Quinn. The little girl on the bottom right is his, too, but Maura looks just like Kevin's wife.
