Knitting Project #2, or, The Long and Short of It

I, the self-taught knitter, ended up making this project twice. It was a lesson in the importance of yarn tension. The first blanket came out shorter than it was wide, and super curly. Undaunted, and with plenty of yarn left, I began again. Greer's baby dolls have been sleeping quite snugly under the results of round 1.

That slightly embarrassing admission made, I love this sweet thing. I am definitely going to file this pattern away for future use.
Round 1 on top, Round 2 underneath
Round 2 is about 8 inches longer and 6 inches wider than Round 1. And much cuter, I might add.)

I'm still perfecting my technique for changing colors, but I was happy with this pattern. Plus you can get two blankets out of the yarn. This one was also from Lion Brand and can be found here.

Next up, hats for the kids and this (but in different colors):

I feel lots of lust for this blanket. I want to pay you to make another one for me. Because mine would be shaped like the state of Idaho.

I love it and am quite impressed. I also love the yarn--ridiculously cute

Miriam, for you, I would do it for free; just buy me the yarn. It cost about $45.00, but I can get two blankets out of that, if you know anyone else who'd like one.

Also, I was thinking I'd like to make it a little wider and a little longer. It's about 28" by 30", good for a newborn swaddle.

Let me know!

Um, "Brady" is actually Leela. I didn't realize I was signed in his account. Oops! No, you don't have a blog stalker.
